Merinka at 2 weeks old

Merinka is the grand-daughter of our mare,Waleska, out of her daughter, Donnerleska (by Donnerschlag, a son of Donnerhall).

Merinka aged 3 months

Her father, Medoc, was originally selected by the German commission to stand at the state stud in Celle. He is now standing in the UK and has gone from Novice to Advanced Medium level dressage in the last two years.   He was previously a Grade B showjumper, jumping A and B courses with ease.  Medoc combines excellent conformation, elastic paces, outstanding jumping ability and wonderful temperament,  all of which he passes on to his progeny.

At four years of age, Merinka showed both style and elegance, having inherited the best qualities from both sides of her parentage.

In March 2005, Merinka was broken in by Diana Carter of Lockerbie and was then taken to the yard of dressage rider, Jo Barry, at Kirknewton, Nr Edinburgh.  In October 2005, Jo took Merinka to the British Hanoverian Horse Society Mare Performance Test at Addington EC where she exceeded all expectations.  After showing her ability in the loose jumping, she underwent the ridden section with both Jo and a test rider.  She was placed 2nd overall, the highest placed British bred mare and was awarded ‘Elite’ status, the British equivalent of State Premium Status
